EKSA received a special award in the national competition

The monastery complex on the island "St. Anastasia" is located in the southeastern part of the Burgas Bay, approximately 6 km away from Burgas.
History: With the declaration in State Gazette pc. 39 in 1973 the monastery complex "St. Anastasia" was given the status of a cultural monument of national importance. In November 2013, Burgas Municipality completed restoration and conservation of historical and cultural values of the island under a project funded by OPRD. Having a dramatic ancient history, island St. Anastasia is now more important than ever. Here is the only island monastery in Bulgaria, named after the island - "St. Anastasia”. Monastery complex from the time of the Second Bulgarian Empire, located on an island and preserved to this day is rare not only in our country. Facilities and services: After the massive reconstruction, buildings are rising into life and can now enjoy the following amenities and services:
Restaurant - traditional seafood dishes by authentic recipes. Physician’s place - original teas and infusions made from herbs grown on the island. Large monastery building - interactive museum, gift shop, multi-purpose room and accommodation. Small monastery building - accommodation in spacious rooms with private bathrooms and a cozy living room.

In developing this project has been taken an innovative approach in which originality and high cultural and historical value of St. Anastasia is interpreted in the context of modern and dynamic urban environment.
